Directives for the proposal D'a workshop of training
(Pre-conference September 15, and 16 2007)

Dates : The workshops will be held with the beginning of the congress (pre-conference), that is to say September the 15, and 16 2007

Public concerned : The workshops are accessible to any person concerned with Géo-information, it does not matter its level of knowledge and expertise.

Objectives : The workshops are theoretical, practical and interactive meetings making it possible to acquire new competences or to refine the assets, and this under the supervision of an expert. They are one more or less long duration (from 3 to 48 hours: certain workshops can last one half-day, one or two days) that the regular sessions offered during the conference.

Priority topics : Joining the topic and under topics of the conference as well as the priority fields of interest for the fight against poverty and the durable development in Africa, of the topics were identified and are privileged for the workshops. Any tender of proposal will have to hold account of it.

• Géo Information : installation of infrastructures of space data
• Géo Information and its applications in Africa
• Management (projet/programme/politic) and good governorship by Géo information (decisions based on convincing data, system of follow-up evaluation, performance, etc).
• Space technology and Géo Information with the service of the durable development
• SIG and teledetection : components and offers market

Process of selection : The proposals submitted for the training workshops will be examined by a scientific committee envisaged for this purpose.

The proposals will be examined starting from the following criteria:

• Contribution to the advance of knowledge and the practices in Africa
• Agreement with the privileged topics of the conference and the workshops ; for the topics and under topics of the conference, prayer lira " advertisement and tired calls with contribution "
• Potential of integration of the trainings in African context
• Quality of the proposal workshop
• Adequacy enters the objectives of the workshop, its contents and its methods of animation/enseignement
• Realism of the workshop taking into account the had aims and the serviceable time
• Logistic and budgetary capacity necessary for the workshop
• Appraise of the presenter

It should be noted that the proposals submitted for the professional workshops tend to be the rejection rate object higher than those having milked with other types of presentations than are the communications, the poster /affiche, exposures.

The number of professional workshops to retain will turn around five (5)

Methods of tender : The presenters must have obligatorily supplemented the whole of the information requested in the form of proposal so that this one is considered. The form must be turned over to the local Committee of organization (courriel) at the latest on March 31, 2006 . Any proposal received after this date will not be examined.

Other requirements : The presenters will have to reserve one period of their workshop for the discussions with the participants and the practical application of the new trainings. They will have to also envisage reference documents to be deposited with the participants.

Inscription to the workshops : The inscription with the workshops will be carried out via the form of inscription to the congress. It remains also possible to be registered on the spot. However the inscriptions with the workshops will follow the rule of order of arrival. Certain workshops will be able to post complete before even the beginning of the congress. The expenses of inscription to the workshops are added at the expenses of inscription for the regular activities of the conference. The workshops will be held in the language specified at the time of the inscription.
